Howdy! I am Amy and I started For Love of DOG blog (fun to say!) because I am fascinated by dogs, their behavior and instincts and want to share my findings about them and answer some questions that I’ve always wondered like “why do they yawn?” and “what does it mean when they scoot their butt across the floor?”. I know, burning questions in all our minds. I wanted to be a vet since I was a kid but when I realized you had to cut open animals, I quickly changed paths. That didn’t stop me, however, from volunteering and watching way too many hours of Cesar Millan. 🙂
I have two pups of my own, Archie and Hazel. My husband and I rescued them from a local no-kill shelter three years ago and I am having so much fun being at home with them right now. Anyone who works from home and has an animal knows how close you get to them. It’s like you start to have your own language with them, like you know they have to go out by the way they tip their head or stare at you while you work. I hope I don’t sound crazy but a closer bond is definitely formed when you are the one walking, feeding and hanging with them most (if not all) of the day.
There is a lot of contradictory and confusing information out there so I hope to create a fun and factual environment to learn more about what our pets are thinking. That is until the talking collar becomes available. 🙂
Cheers! ~ Amy
